Our #WCW for this week goes to a lover of people and life itself. Someone who is super-resilient, flexible, committer and networker at heart. And that particular individual is none other than the wonderful Rozan Newfeldt.

Rozan is passionate about sharing her own experiences, whether professional or personal, like the saying goes “a mentor’s hindsight can be another’s foresight”, she strives to shine a light for others. Creating spaces for individuals where they can improve and grow is what Rozan is all about; reaching a positive outcome through support, encouragement and constructive feedback is what ultimately allows individuals to effectively be themselves.

At the most recent Skills Exchange Forgiveness and Conscious Communication Circle, Rozan shared her true understanding of letting go of the past and moving forward. She believes that forgiveness means moving on from a situation that can pull you back, not dwelling or holding on to a particular issue, but setting yourself free with ease.

Enabling the spirit of forgiveness is essential and that includes taking accountability and responsibility for not only your actions in the given moment but showing up for yourself and the life you lead. Part of the process is learning how to forgive yourself and those around you, whether it be at work, school, or at home, whatever the environment and whoever is affected, you need to choose to

“Forgive yourself and learn from it.”

Even after all that, Rozan acknowledges that she’s human and imperfect, she accepts that she is bound to make mistakes but believes in the power of forgiving and quotes a line in the Lord's Prayer that she often shares with those close to her,

“Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.”

Rozan encourages women to always be aware of their actions, interactions and responses to any situation. Self-awareness and reflection are of utmost importance as it allows us to be mindful of how we communicate and treat others.

“ When we communicate at a conscious level, we are more aware of how and what we are saying and that will lead to less confrontational situations.”
